I have always been fascinated with the company names that sound uniquely. One such name that interested me for the first time was SIERRA Infosys Pvt Ltd., founded by Shri. Giridhar JG. The company is presently known as SIERRA ODC Private Limited. Giridhar Sir is also CTO of ANGLER Technologies India Pvt Ltd., the company where I started my career as a Software Developer. My first interaction with Giridhar Sir was during my job interview. Even though I had hardly interacted with him during my service at ANGLER, I have always admired his technical and problem-solving capabilities, which I came to know through my seniors. 

As unique as the name, SIERRA’s office space has achieved the world’s highest LEED Certification score, earning 103 out of 110 possible points, in the year 2018 and SIERRA’s office building is the second Greenest Building in the world. Yes, you heard me right.

The Story behind -the name- Code Rivera:

When I was deciding the name for my company, there were two things in my mind.

One, there should be a word that connects with programming for sure and so deciding the first word wasn’t that tough. We are in the era of information technology where nothing exists without a code. Any information in this digital world is in the format of binary code. On another note, Coding has always been my passion and I always see Coding as poetry. So I chose ‘Code’ as the first word.

Secondly, I looked for a word that is as fascinating as ‘SIERRA’ but something that should gel with the word ‘Code’. When I searched for words that sounded interestingly with a thoughtful meaning attached to it, I found the Spanish word ‘Rivera’ which means River Bank. We all know most civilizations formed in the banks of rivers.

Hence the name Code Rivera, For Reliably Different IT Solutions.
